January 31...Ski Lessons

They both did so well! BayLea got lucky and she was the only one in her group and so she got a private lesson. She took to it like nothing, and was up on the chair lift within 30 minutes. Her instructor kept telling us, "She is so athletic!" Breccan did well, too, but he had another kid in his group and so Breccan had to spend some time waiting his turn. But by the end he was ready to go up the lift, although time had run out and he was exhausted!

January 28 My first selfie!

I'm not sure why they call it that...a selfie. But it's a self-portrait and I've been pretty much the only one who hasn't done one in the group I've been doing the picture a day with. So here it is...the camera sat on a chair and I had the hardest time focusing it. So here it is...blurry, baggy eyes showing and whatever! But it's done! My first selfie.

I really had nothing for this theme...so this is it. This is a quilt my mom made for Breccan when he was maybe a year old. He does love this blanket, although NO ONE loves a blanket like BayLea loves her Bronco blanket!!! This is pretty much a snapshot...just couldn't think of any way to make it look like a cool picture!

Every time I go to Palisade, I wish that I lived out there so that when I opened my front door (or maybe the back door, cuz really you spend more time in the back than the front, right?) I could see this mountain. For some reason, I just love it.

Party!

BayLea's party was today...12 screaming kids!!!! Actually they were all very good! It was a fun and exhausting day and I was ready for a glass of wine when we were done. It was a Fancy Nancy themed party and so they were all decked out in their finest! Doesn't she look cute? And Pa made cotton candy for them at the end of the party! That was a hit!

So the weekly theme is sweet. I knew what I wanted to do immediately for this one. I love Jelly Belly's. They are over the top sweet and I love them!

Today picture is a family picture...BayLea and my mom, two peas in a pod! We were celebrating BayLea's birthday, the three of us, at Thai Chilis. Mimi had a present for her to open...BayLea is saying here..."I know what this is! A movie!" Indeed it was...Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!

Week 2: Hats

Well, I had in my head to get creative with this...my plan for hats was to do a "the many hats a working mom wears" and I was going to be cooking in the kitchen, while putting a bandaide on Breccan, helping BayLea read her homework and planning for my day at school. But it didn't happen. Did I mention I'm kind of lazy about photography? If it can't be set up easily, I rarely do it. I may still try to pull it off some day down the road. I can picture it in my head...we'll see if I ever do it.

So this is Breccan in this hat that I love, and that he loves. He was on the way out to ride his bike in this frigid weather!

Theme: Beginning

Here is my image for the first week: Beginnings. It's a black-eyed pea. The reason I chose this is because my mom has us over for black-eyed peas on January 1st every year because of the good luck it will bring. If you don't like them, you aren't required to eat more than just one. For many years, that's all I ate: one. Now, as an adult, I don't find them as distasteful. I can eat a small bowl of them...more peas, more good luck do you think???
